Moon Taxi - Not Too Late
Another Nashville-based band appearing at LouFest is the indie-rock quintet, Moon Taxi. While the band recorded their first four albums on self-made label 12 South Records—which is based in their home—the band has a very festival-friendly sound.
Their sound has been described as jam rock and crossbred rock, especially on their first album, Melodica. But, take a good listen to their second album, Cabaret, and that moniker quickly changes to substantiate the indie-rock label.
The band has appeared around the country and has checked off national festivals such as The Hangout Music Fest, Wakarusa, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Summerfest and Firefly Fest, and now they can now add LouFest to the list. This will be the band’s first appearance in St. Louis in two years, when they played Delmar Hall in 2016.
With tunes like “Make Your Mind Up,” “Hideaway,” “Not Too Late” and “Too High,” the crowd will be begging for more than a 45-minute set. --CW
