What is there to say about one of the best indie rock bands over the past decade that you don't already know? Busting out of Austin 13 years ago when their fourth album, Gimme Fiction, debuted at 44 on the Billboard Chart with tunes like "I Turn My Camera On" and "My Mathematical Mind."

Since then, the quartet has moved onward and upward defining a 22-year, nine-album existence with their most explorative work to date, Hot Thoughts.

They rocked the Saturday slot on the mainstage at Loufest last summer. Watching lead vocalist Britt Daniel bounce around stage was infectious and it was a joy to hear the band perform hits from their past five albums with gumption, passion and excitement. You shouldn't expect anything different at their upcoming show at The Pageant. -CW
